Would You Like To Get Away From This World?

i am sure that many if not all malaysians are familliar with Hospital Bahagia, the mental institution located in Tanjung Rambutan. in fact we always use this place in jest, if a friend acts a little goofy and crazy, you would volunteer to call tanjung rambutan for them! 0_o

recently, my mom, through a womens body, PUSPANITA, paid a visit to tanjung rambutan. (i have no idea why they had to there though. preparation for their entry? :D)

apparently the area is huge, about 544 hectares. the place is well kept and the "disturbed" are seperated by gender and the severeness of their condition. i hear the have 1st class and second class too.

some short facts about Hospital Bahagia, Tanjung Rambutan.

  • the inmates has six meals a day. the meals are not as bad as you think.
  • the not so seriously "disturbed" patients are allowed to work. they actually work as guard, nurses and attendants to other inmates. they get to wear a cool green uniform with badges to indicate their position and receive wages.
  • they have television in all the large recreational rooms and even suscribes to astro too!
  • they are allowed to garden and eventually bring their produce outside of the hospital to sell. dont try to cheat them when you are buying the fruits or vegetables there ok? apparently the fruits and vegetables are better than usual. maybe because they have the time and love to spend with the plants?
  • the most special moment the staff experienced is when S fell in love with Y and decided to get married! many of the inmates and staff got caught up in the excitement and did their best to decorate and ready the hall at the hospital for the wedding. imagine, there are almost 2000 inmates there plus the family, friends and relatives of the happy couple. it will be a grand and merry wedding indeed. imagine the festive and happy atmosphere..
  • the staff and doctor are extremely close and friendly with the inmates. my moms friend had quite a fright when one of the patients casually looped his arm around a doctor. scared he will strangle the doctor? :P
  • there are libraries and inmates can learn new skills so that when they are cured, they can support themselves.
  • there are fun and recreational activities too. the inmates get to go for outings sometimes.
  • special occasions and festivals are celebrated with special foods and lovingly rehearsed performances by both inmates and staff.

their lives dont seem that bad eh? they dont have to feel stressed or pressured. they dont worry about the condition of the world, money problems, love woes, studies, parental pressure, betrayal, problematic friends, dirty politicians, rude drivers, perverts....(add more)
probably people may say that they are running away from the realities of live.
but i was just seriously thinking, wont it be nice to live without trouble? even for one day?

an interesting bit...
~a number of the inmates were straight A scorers from various levels of school and university.

according to my mother, she had already booked room for me there. government servants can get cheaper rates! yay!
all i have to do now is just attend the meeting with the in-house psychologist to access the severity of my mental illness and i will be installed there.
finally i will be able to run free on the grass and dance under the rain without people thinking i am out of my mind. for they already know i am nuts.

do come and visit me or better, join me and let us have a merry time of it!
i promise i wont bite!

one more thing, dont you pity the people who studies at SK or SMK Tanjung Rambutan?
"wei, what school were you from ar?"
"i was from SK/SMK Tanjung Rambutan."
"har??............."
hehehehehehe

~absolutely crapping~
